If you weren't born into a wealthy family, then making a living and providing for yourself and your family would be difficult. That was the case in Nigeria.

My name is Fahed Nasiro - a specialist in digital marketing.

I studied Finance and Banking at the Institute of Applied Arts. I graduated at the beginning of 2015 before starting job hunting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a job in my line of study. So, I decided to learn digital marketing because it’s one of the most common and sought-after fields worldwide.

I loved this field and was always striving to develop my skills. However, the high number of unemployed and difficulty finding job opportunities made me accept temporary and inadequate jobs with low pay. I stayed unemployed and began worrying about the situation going from bad to worse.

I was trapped between the hammer of not finding work and the anvil of poverty. I had two options: watch my hopes and dreams be destroyed in this country or emerge from this dark tunnel and venture into a journey searching for a better life and future.

Quickly, I decided to run from the unemployment trap and move to Libya, hoping for better job opportunities. I arrived in Tripoli about four months ago, only to be surprised that it's similar to Nigeria. Additionally, being a foreigner, speaking a foreign language was a barrier that prevented me from getting high paid jobs. I found myself forced to work in building plastering - known as “Mileaqa" - to make a living. I met some Nigerian friends who speak Arabic. To this day, I still knock on companies' doors with dreams of finding a job as a digital marketer.
