23 years old, vice president of the board of directors at H2O organization
“I never thought that my sister asking me to help her prepare a type of dessert for her newborn would be the first step of my current project.
I am a mother of 3 and the founder of the “Bonbon Glass Libya” project for healthy chocolate making. I started online searching for a Truffles recipe, which is a type of chocolate served on occasions. I was surprised to invent a new product line for this type of chocolate to be then present in different ways under the name “Bonbon” that relies on merging colors.
Since I had been interested in the product preparation process as well as drawing and mixing colors, I liked the idea and started thinking about it seriously.
I then started rapidly with the project’s first steps, creating a page and forming a small team of those who were my first supporters, among its members was my husband as a director, as well as a photography and graphics team. And the project requests and sales started increasing day by day.
My husband had a fair share in supporting me to realize my dream despite all obstacles like not having the state’s support for small business, as well as not being able to easily find an investor to adopt the idea, especially since the project relies on using healthy materials to present a fresh and organic product without preservatives, the thing that needs decent funding. That was my biggest obstacle, I had to shut down the factory, but I didn’t give up and pursued my work from home inside my own kitchen where I worked even during the war.
I continued my participation in small businesses events, my project received the distinction reward recently from “Libya international rewards” as a product complying with quality standards. It was also chosen among the best 5 Libyan projects in the work increasing world cup competition where hundreds of projects are chosen from around the world, as well as many other competitions that proved that I could realize my ambition to present healthy chocolate as a high-quality product made from scratch in Libya”.
