“My beginning in the civil society work field started in 2017 through participating in the project “enhancing local governance “.
I tried then working on an initiative which is a training center that cares for divorced women and widows especially and for youth generally, to empower them and enable them to get integrated into the work field.
I presented this project to more than one municipality and got accepted, but sadly the project stopped due to not having the required funding and war circumstances. But I am still ambitious and willing to execute it within municipalities.
I didn’t allow that to turn me down and get me frustrated, instead, it motivated me and increased my will and passion to work harder and get to know even more about all the work details in this field.
Then I got involved in social work in many places. I started working on raising awareness of the importance of board council for municipalities in the year 2018, for its importance in my opinion is that it sets the foundation of participating in imposing democracy in the country we hope to reach.
And even if the current elections do not come back with the results we desire, but with our continued participation and trials, we will reach the desired results eventually.
Libya is considered a modern country in the field of democracy and needs cumulative experiments to enhance this thought in the Libyan people’s minds.
Today, and after years of hard work, I feel lucky to be who I am now as a supervisor for surveillance and awareness projects for the municipality boards elections, which imposes lots of responsibility and granted me with bigger opportunities to help the society at the same time”.
