“The story of my passion for debate began when I was visiting Tunisia with some friends. For the first time, I heard the word “debate” in one of their meetings with them. I was curious and started looking for more information on this term.
On my return to Libya by chance; I knew that the University of Tripoli is organizing several free courses within the event (Open Month of 2019), and the debate was among them. I did not hesitate to register even for a moment, and from here I began the practical application of the debate.
After this course, I began to feel the impact of this science on my life and changing my personality in terms of rhetorical style, self-control, emotional stability, and most importantly, confidence in the personality of (Debaj), as I became confident and strong.
I began to take the matter seriously when I joined the (Change Club for debate), and in mid-2020 I became a coach and a referee, and this was one of the most prominent stages of change in my life that provided me with opportunities to participate at the local and Arab levels.
Today, I am working with the Change Club on training women candidates for municipal council elections, due to my belief in the importance of debate in support of the democratic process that will help candidates in presenting their electoral programs in a way that aims to obtain a better result in these elections, and this is my ambition for debate to become a way of life in all The fields in Libya aim for a dialogue that achieves peace, understanding, and democracy.”
